ANNOUNCEMENTS

FROM Matthew KD9WFK: Thanks to the Piglets for jointly hosting a great Winter Field Day this weekend with CIARA! Everyone had a great time and learned a lot.

FROM Dallas N9DAM: More ham volunteers are still needed for the Sam Costa Half-Marathon (Mar 23) and Carmel Marathon (Apr 13). We also need an APRS-capable ham to ride in a chase vehicle for Sam Costa. Visit N9EOC.org and click on the Events menu at the top to find the signup links.

Also, this was the best field day so far and thanks to the Piglets for the stations setup. Special thanks to Monica N9MRP for opening the facility and being the last to leave after cleanup!

FROM John W9KD: The Thursday night net will be a review of Winter Field Day and a discussion of the station equipment used.

CIARA and Piglet Radio hosted a joint contest station at Osprey Pointe Pavilion this weekend for Winter Field Day. We had outdoor two stations operated for a full 24 hours, as well as an indoor satellite tracking station. A workshop on how to attach PL-259 connectors to coax was taught by Steve KB9RDS.

It was a great success, both from a social and contesting perspective. The Piglets club callsign we operated under, N9BCN, scored 1,794 QSOs or conversations, the most in the two transmitters outdoor category, followed closely by a fellow Indianapolis area club, KU9R, with just 79 less QSOs.

If you are interested in running a new net on a repeater or learning how to be a net controller, please contact Matthew KD9WFK at kd9wfk@gmail.com.
