April 8 – The next Amateur Radio license testing session will be held next Saturday, April 8 at1030 in the Hamilton County Emergency Operations Center at 18100 Cumberland Road in Noblesville. April 8 – Carmel Marathon. N9DAM thanked all Amateur Radio operators who have signed up to work comms at water stations. If you have not signed up yet but still would like to work this event please contact Dallas at KD9TJH@gmail.com. As Net Manager, N9DAM announced the name of the Thursday evening Hortonville Net will be the “All Things CIARA Net. The topic for this coming Thursday will be “Your favorite or funniest QSO.” N9DAM also announced that going forward that other nets are welcome – please contact N9DAM to schedule time and dates; a registration form is available at n9eoc.org.
May 6 – CPR training for Hamilton County RACES members will be held Saturday, May 6 from 0800 to noon at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center at the Sheriff’s Campus in Noblesville. This is a joint training for both RACES and CIARA members. While mandatory for RACES, CPR training is highly recommended for CIARA. For those unable to attend this session, there will be a forthcoming evening session available; use SignUp Genius to register.
May 6 – Indiana QSO Party. CIARA will operate from 1100 to 2300, at Forest Park, Shelter 5. Power is available. Bands are 160, 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 on SSB and CW. If you want to participate, send your radio and antenna setup, power needs, and preferred bands to Dwight at N9DEK@ARRL.NET.
