The next CIARA meeting is Saturday, February 4th from 9-11 a.m. at Fire Station 76 in Noblesville. Mike, KD9BKU, will be presenting ‘ARES – What does it mean for us? How can we be ready to help?’

The next EMA Comms Group Meeting is February 10th from 9 a.m. to noon. Did you know that Hamilton County Emergency Mangement’s Communications Group has expanded? In addition to expanding our radio group, we also have IT, Telecom, Satellite and Comm Ops (which is A/V and device support). To learn more about the various groups and whether you’d like to join one, please visit: https://hamiltoncounty.in.gov/RACES

If you missed the Current in Carmel issue from January 9th, you can still find their cover story about Amateur Radio online, just google “current in carmel piglet radio”. The Current interviewed Piglet Radio officers Derek Fronek N9TD and Chris Pacovsky W9CZK. It’s a great informational article about our hobby and Piglet Radio (with pictures!).

Finally, if you haven’t already subscribed, be sure to subscribe to the hamcoham google groups. Hamcoham is a community bulletin board for users to post any ham radio related topic. This could be an announcement, a question, items for sale or items wanted, ham radio topics you feel others might be interested in (i.e. solar flare, rare DXpedition coming up, new ham in the area, etc.). It is not affiliated with any particular group. However, clubs whether in Hamilton County or elsewhere, may post meeting notices, events and net reports if they wish. It’s up to them. It is open for all! The majority of the content will come from you; the user. To signup please visit the hamcoham link on our repeater website, k9eoc.org
